About Our CEO

Melissa Kaan got her start at a national FM company where she learned the business but more importantly, learned how to think creatively to solve problems. She also learned patience and negotiation tactics. After many years, she received the opportunity to participate in a startup overseen by two veterans of the FM industry. She learned sales, and she learned operational management as well as project management for large scale interior build outs. This is also the place where, due to Covid and political unrest, she learned how to listen learned the value of a team and what a blessing it is to be able to depend on each other. At her next firm, she learned how to be nimble and how to be noble in that effort. Melissa learned how to truly manage personalities to bring everyone together as united team. She also learned that a humble heart is the secret sauce, and you can only truly achieve when you lean into learning and humility.  Her most recent venture as a teammate was where she learned what truly happens in the back of the house. Invoicing, compliance, taxes, risk management, risk transference, and the responsibility that must weigh heavily on you in order to drive your company into the black. She created the maintenance division and had the undertaking of building out a CMMS system building, creating standard operating procedures, building out a CRM system, inventing a new sales cycle and so much more. All of these parts combined created the owner of NOVA IFM. She now is the leader at the helm of the future of facility maintenance, and still remains just a phone call away.
